Martin has over 20 years of financial exposure covering manufacturing, construction, retail and service and not for profit sectors combined with a strong and broad commercial awareness. His career has covered companies such i3 Research, Equifax, Quintiles, Pims Group, The Royal Mint & the Inland Revenue. Martin is currently Commercial Finance Director of SUSSED Wales Ltd, Greenstream Flooring CIC, S.T.E.E.R. The Enterprise Academy and Hostel Hub. He is also Financial Controller for Green Renewable Wales Ltd, Whitedge Developments and BSS. During his career he has written many financial documents; many with a global audience. His niche is as a hands-on interim Finance Director, helping out entrepreneurial SMEs and social enterprises to improve their cash flow and survive, whilst improving sales and governance and contributing to the overall business strategy. Martin’s career started off in archaeology during the 1980s where he ended up publishing, amongst other papers, the environmental impact of Icelandic volcanoes & the traces they leave for scholars to interpret and the pre-Incan Moche society situated in western Peru. Martin has been fortunate to run his accounting and archaeological careers in tandom for over a decade and is currently Head of Archaeology at Porthcawl Museum. Over the years, he has lectured and presented on subjects relating to both careers but of particular note is his school lecture in front of 200 seven year olds about what archaeologists do.
